Celebration to mark His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Birthday

[7th July 2007, Saturday , at Westminster Cathedral Hall, Ambrosden Avenue , London SW1; nearest tube station: Victoria ]

 

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is both the head of state and the spiritual leader of Tibet . In 1959 His Holiness and thousands of Tibetans were forced to flee Tibet following Communist China's brutal occupation of Tibet . Since then His Holiness has worked tirelessly for the just cause of Tibet and numerous other issues of global concern.  For his effors His Holiness has received many awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for leading the non-violent Tibetan struggle for freedom.  

 

Tibetans and Tibet supporters celebrates His Holiness the Dalai Lama's birthday the world over to express their gratitude to His Holiness and learn from His teachings and offer prayers for His long life.

 

In London , we will celebrate His Holiness' birthday as a Tibet Event on Saturday 7 th July, under the auspices of the Tibetan Commemorative Committee consisting of the Office of Tibet ( info@tibet.com ), the Tibet Society ( info@tibetsociety.com ) and the Tibetan Community in Britain .  On Friday 6 th July there will be a cultural performance by the Tibetan Community in Britain at the Conway Hall, Holborn, London .
